Maternity & Breastfeeding Fashion
Dressing the bump and then for breastfeeding while still looking half stylish can be so hard. Through out my pregnancy and now while Im breastfeeding my insta community have been asking me everyday for ideas and places to shop so I just quickly threw this little article together to share where I buy my clothing from and also some quick tips for dressing the bump and for BF!
HERES A FEW TIPS WHEN BUYING FOR BUMP AND BEYOND:
When looking for maternity pieces try to make sure they are also breastfeeding friendly where you can so you can get some extra life out of them.
This season there are so many comfy overalls around - perfect for both breastfeeding and the bump.
Anything button down works for breastfeeding think summery linen dresses or shirts with button fronts, Shirt style dresses etc.
Singlets work for breastfeeding as you can easily pull down the strap.
Wear a high wasted skirt with a t-shirt over the top that way you can easily pull up the tee and be covered when feeding - this combo also works so well over a bump.
If your top isn’t BF friendly but you still want to wear jeans etc wear a maternity single underneath so your belly is still covered when you pull the shirt up.
You don’t have to buy maternity wear, so many chain stores sell many options to fit bump and for breastfeeding.
Don’t buy too many pieces - get a few great basics and work out ways you can mix and match while pregnant ( stretchy rushed dresses are a must as you can wear them so many ways).
Remember your body will change a lot in the first few months post baby so don’t go to crazy as your size may change a lot.
When you’re pregnant pack away any clothes don’t fit or won’t fit for the pregnancy and early PP so that you are constantly looking at things that don’t fit and you don’t have to feel overwhelmed every morning you try to get dressed.
Kimonos are great for pregnancy to cover lumps and bumps and also great post partum for some coverage while feeding.
Be kind to yourself and gentle with yourself - both of these periods can be hard to accept the changes in your body.
This is where I got my stretchy ruched dresses. The lovely mama who owns Glow Mama was nice enough to gift me one or two at the start of my pregnancy - I then bought a couple more to keep me going as I wear them so often. I’ve loved styling with a tee tied over the top.
They also have a large range of pregnancy and nursing fashion.
2. FRANKIE & CO - Bump & Beyond
We all know and love Frankie & Co but you might not know they have a bump and beyond range for pregnancy and breastfeeding. You can pick up cheap comfy maternity basics at Kmart especially good for finding breastfeeding singlets and bras as well as basic dresses for pregnancy and feeding. The only annoying thing I found was that none of the stores I went to never had small sizes.

8. MUMMA BEAR NURSING WEAR
A one stop shop for breastfeeding fashion with clever designs that hide the fact you’re even wearing a BF friendly outfit.
